Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager (directly); Plant Operations Manager – Libby (indirectly)

This position must be self-inspired to learn and demonstrates a high degree of customer service, while positively contributing to our Team.
The Quality Assurance Inspector performs inspection and testing of purchased materials, components, subassemblies, and final products in accordance with Nomad policies and procedures. The Quality Assurance Inspector will be trained and report to the Quality Assurance Manager, working in collaboration to ensure standard quality across various Nomad projects and teams.

- In process inspection

o Paint/Graphics – Inspect for compliance to:

Painting Industry standards
o Assembly – Inspect for compliance to:
Engineering design drawings
Nomad workmanship standards
Industry standards
Additional customer requirements as applicable
o Electrical – Inspect for compliance to:
Engineering design drawings
Nomad workmanship standards
AC/DC Electrical Industry standards
Applicable IPC/WHMA standards
- Final Inspection
o Conduct full deployment and stow procedures to verify full functionality
o Inspect for compliance to:
Engineering design drawings
Visual aesthetics
Ergonomic ideals

Specialty Vehicle Industry standards
DOT requirements
- Complete all associated paperwork and quality records with meticulous attention to detail.
- Interact with, mentor, and provide feedback to manufacturing staff to communicate expectations and encourage quality improvements.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action of failures and defects.
- Listen and be open to improvement suggestions from all levels of the organization.
- Be willing, on a limited basis, to travel as needed by Management.
- Additional duties as assigned by Management.
Basic Knowledge Desired:
- Understand the significance of the Nomad Core Values and a demonstrated willingness and ability to practice them throughout their time at Nomad GCS, Inc.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems, with a sense of urgency to meet all defined deliverables
- Have basic knowledge of electrical and IT systems.
- Have suitable understanding of root cause investigation techniques and corrective actions.
- Have a basic understanding blueprints, drawings, geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and model-based definitions (ASME Y14 standards).
- Understand basic metrology and calibration requirements.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with employees at all levels.
- Have strong computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft programs.
- Be familiar with American Welding Society (AWS) procedures and inspections.
Physical Demands:
- Regular use of hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and sitting.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.
- Specific vision abilities require close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and distinguishing colors.
- Working from heights at ground floor up to 20’ from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
Working Environment:
- The work environment is partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside may be required.
- All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection and closed-toed shoes at all times in manufacturing area and throughout the performance of their duties.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED. Additional education desired.
- 2 years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment operating within a heavily regulated industry preferably operating with a QMS certified/compliant to ISO9001, AS9100, and/or FAA Guidelines.
- Previous inspection experience preferred.
