What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Counselor - LPCC or LISW- Clyde/Sandusky position at NOMS Healthcare?
Job Summary:
The Professional Counselor is responsible for helping clients identify goals and potential solutions to problems, seek to improve communication, and promote optimal mental health.
Essential Functions:
1. Develops a therapeutic relationship with each client
2. Provides individual, group or family therapy as needed
3. Provide CPST and minor case management functions if needed
4. Completes all paperwork required by the agency within designated time frames
Competencies:
1. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at once
2. Good communication skills with both patients and coworkers
3. Outstanding reading, writing and organization skills
4. Detail-oriented personality
5. Sense of responsibility and compassion
6. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to help determine the cause of unusual allergic reactions
Education and Work Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in social work with a valid Ohio LSW
2. Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field is preferred.
3. LPCC, MFT, LISW, or IMFT is preferred.
Certificates and Licenses Required:
1. Licensed Independent Social Worker OR LPCC
Physical/Mental Demands:
Normal office environment. Work is typically performed at a desk or table requiring the use of standard office equipment. Intermittent sitting, standing and stooping. May view computer screen for long periods of time. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
