Nomura is looking for Entry Level Software Engineers to join the Wholesale Data Services (WDS) Technology Team. WDS Organization provides foundational architectural solutions for market and reference data that powers Nomura’s business.
The candidates will have a chance to be part of building technology solutions utilizing modern technology stack including but not limited to Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Globally Distributed Data Storage and distribution, Low Latency solutions.
An ideal candidate will have a combination of strong software development skills and an interest in data analysis and modelling. The candidate must be a team player with strong communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a global team.
Responsibilities include:
- Contribute towards ground-up development of Data Fabric, next generation data delivery platform
- Implementation of Instrument Master service that ingests Securities reference data from vendor platforms such as Bloomberg
- Building infrastructure services for global data distribution using in-memory caching using technologies such as Redis/Memcached
- Implementation of real time indexing and context sensitive search services handling very large data sets (millions of records)
- Modernize Legacy Applications to be able to run on container management runtime within Nomura’s in-house Kubenetes Based platform and AWS
- Build highly resilient, scalable and reliable architecture
- Build automated unit, integration and regression tests
- Work with global team, distributed within London, Mumbai, Japan and Shanghai
Preferred Skillset:
- Proficiency in developing applications using Java technologies
- Experience with React/Angular, JSON, NodeJS
- Familiarity with Public Cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP or Azure
- Strong problem solving ability, design skills and a deep understanding of design patterns and software development best practices
- Experience in Agile Software Development
Requirements
- Outstanding academic qualifications; strong GPA
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields
- Graduating between December 2021 and June 2022
- Able to start late July
