Job Overview

We are seeking a Recruiter to join our team and play a vital role in building a dedicated workforce for our homeless shelter services. This position involves identifying, attracting, and hiring compassionate professionals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of those in need.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for shelter staff, including case managers, social workers, support staff, and volunteers.

Source and attract qualified candidates through job postings, social media, community partnerships, and networking.

Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate the hiring process with department managers.

Maintain relationships with local organizations, colleges, and workforce programs to create pipelines for potential hires.

Manage the hiring process from start to finish, including onboarding and ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.

Track recruitment metrics and suggest improvements for hiring processes.

Ensure compliance with nonprofit and shelter staffing regulations.

Qualifications

Previous experience in recruiting, human resources, or talent acquisition, preferably in the nonprofit or social services sector.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on mission-driven hiring.

Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment tools is a plus.

Passion for social work, homelessness advocacy, or community service.
