La Salle Academy is a member of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL). All athletic programs compete in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL) and are governed by the RIIL’s rules and regulations.
La Salle Academy's beautiful 29-acre campus, located at the heart of Providence’s historic Elmhurst neighborhood, offers state-of-the-art classrooms and science labs, as well as the recently renovated John P. Cronin Field and Louis Cimini Stadium. ROLE
La Salle Academy is seeking a Head Varsity Football Coach. The coach will report directly to the Athletic
Administrator. The coach must have an extensive football background with a commitment to character
formation and the mission and values of La Salle Academy. The coach must have a strong commitment
to fostering the values of hard work, respect, and teamwork.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head Varsity Football Coach serves as the chief director of the entire football program at La Salle Academy. The coach will organize, lead, and execute daily practice plans for the varsity program. The coach will oversee and supervise the sub-varsity football program so that it aligns with the varsity program. The coach is responsible for planning and communicating off-season training and workouts.
The coach will be responsible for leading and developing assistant coaches. The coach must be a positive mentor to our student-athletes. The coach will be responsible for hiring assistant coaches with the advice and counsel of the Athletic Administrator. The coach will define each assistant coach’s responsibilities and duties.
The coach should be someone who can develop strong, healthy relationships with the athletes, assistant coaches, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, and all members of La Salle Academy’s community.
The Head Varsity Football Coach hires and manages 5-6 assistant coaches as well as monitors, supervises and works with sub-varsity coaches to create a cohesive program.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Head Coach experience preferred
- Experience working with athletes grades 6-12
- Ability to organize, execute, and lead daily practices
- Ability to manage a staff and work well with colleagues at the school
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work with student-athletes from all types of backgrounds
- Provide a healthy, inclusive, and safe environment
- Familiar with or aware of the rules and regulations of the RIIL (Rhode Island Interscholastic
League)
