Job Description:
1. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all products comply with U.S. food safety, labeling, advertising regulations to mitigate legal risks.
- Provide regulatory guidance during the product development phase, ensuring new ingredients and formulations meet relevant standards.
- Assess potential risks in raw materials and products to ensure they comply with safety standards.
- Ensure product labeling is accurate, compliant, and meets local regulatory requirements.
2. Regulatory Policy Tracking and Research:
- Monitor changes in U.S. food and beverage industry regulations, evaluate their impact on the company, and develop response strategies.
- Collaborate with government agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to participate in regulatory development and promote industry standards.
3. Internal Regulatory Training and Crisis Management:
- Provide regulatory training to employees to ensure all departments understand and comply with relevant regulations.
- Offer support during regulatory-related crises, assisting the company in addressing and resolving issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in regulatory affairs within the food and beverage industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of U.S. food safety regulations, labeling requirements, and advertising standards.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess regulatory changes and their impact on products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate staff on compliance matters.
- Proven track record of successful collaboration with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage crises effectively.
