Description
I. PURPOSE OF POSITION
Provides prompt, courteous food and beverage services to guests in the bar area. Fills orders and mixes drinks for cocktail and lounge service staff.
II. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
A. Reports Directly to: Food and Beverage Manager or Beverage Supervisor(s)
B. Supervises Directly: N/A
C. Other Important Contacts: Food and Beverage Manager, General Manager, Manager of Operations, Human Resources, other employees and guests
III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Promotes customer service as a priority by being attentive to guests’ needs; which includes, but is not limited to, providing prompt, courteous service, taking food and beverage orders, and filling the orders.
B. Follows up with existing guests to ensure satisfaction. Assists in resolving any adverse guest issues to the guest’s satisfaction.
C. Maintains an appropriate level of stock in wait stations; including, but not limited to, stocking juices, ice, milk, sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, etc.
D. Complies with company and department policies and procedures while practicing positive customer and employee relations.
E. Maintains assigned section; including, but not limited to, bussing glasses, dishes and the cleaning of ashtrays.
F. Assists bartender with the washing of glasses.
G. Maintains a professional and neat appearance of work area.
H. Maintains a professional and neat appearance and represents the company in a positive manner.
I. Maintains confidentiality of company and player information.
J. Recommends refusal of service to guests due to intoxication in accordance with Washington State liquor laws and policies and procedures of the Nooksack Northwood Casino.
K. Because of the Casino’s commitment to our guests and customer service, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
Qualifications
IV. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
A. Required:
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Class II or Class III gaming licenses from the Nooksack Gaming Commission and the Washington State Gambling Commission.
2. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Washington State Class 12 Mixologist Permit.
3. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Washington State food handler’s permit.
4. Must be at least 21 years of age.
B. Preferred:
1. Previous casino experience.
2. Previous bartending experience.
V. WORKING CONDITIONS
a. May be required to work any shift, any day of the week, including holidays.
b. Will be monitored by surveillance cameras.
c. Work environment may be noisy, smoky, and bright.
d. Duties may require interaction with angered or intoxicated persons.
VI. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
a. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly.
b. Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
c. Must be able to bend, kneel, twist, and pull.
VII. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
a. Demonstrated positive customer service skills.
b. Knowledge of basic food service operations.
c. Knowledge of proper food handling.
d. Ability to work at a fast pace.
e. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with employees and guests.
f. Knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems.
g. Knowledge of basic drink recipes and mixology.
