Description
To provide prompt and courteous food and beverage services to guests in accordance with established policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations while demonstrating and promoting positive guest relations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote customer service as a priority by being attentive to guests’ needs which includes but is not limited to providing prompt, courteous service, taking and filling food and beverage orders.
- Follows up with existing guests to ensure satisfaction. Assists in resolving any adverse guest issues to the guest’s satisfaction.
- Maintains an appropriate level of stock in wait stations; including but not limited to stocking and filling of coffee, tea, powdered beverages, ice, juices, half and half, whipped cream, sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, silverware, glasses, straws etc.
- Comply with company and department policies and procedures while practicing positive customer and employee relations.
- Maintain assigned section; including but not limited to bussing glasses, dishes and the cleaning of ash trays.
- Assist bartender with the washing of glasses.
- Maintain a professional and neat appearance of work area.
- Maintain a professional and neat personal appearance and represent the company in a positive manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and player information.
- Recommend refusal of service to guests due to intoxication, in accordance with Washington State liquor laws and set policies and procedures of the Nooksack River Casino.
- Such other job related duties as may be assigned including but not limited to lounge serving and bartending (if over the age of 21), by instruction from management.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State Gaming Commission licenses.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Obtain and maintain a Class 12 or 13 Alcohol Servers permit.
- Obtain and maintain Gaming TIPS certification.
- Obtain and maintain a Washington State Food Handler’s permit.
Preferred:
- Previous casino experience.
- Previous food and beverage serving experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
A. 1. Working environment may be crowded, smoky, noisy, fast paced.
2. Possible interaction with intoxicated persons.
Will be monitored by Surveillance cameras.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift and carry a server’s tray weighing up to 25 pounds on a continuous basis for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop and squat on a continuous basis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of Washington State liquor laws.
- Knowledge of Washington State Food handler laws.
- Knowledge of wine, beer, liquor, and mixed drinks.
- Knowledge of Lounge menu items.
- Knowledge of hours of operation for the casino and all food and beverage outlets.
- Knowledge of casino promotions and specials.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated positive customer service skills.
- Ability to work any shifts including days, swing, grave, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to multi task.
- Ability to work in a gratuity-based position and focus on excellent customer service to all guests.
