What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Estimator position at Nooter Construction?
Nooter Philadelphia is seeking an Electrical Estimator. Our Estimators are responsible for providing estimating services for various types of projects and contract formats, including producing estimates at various phases of design and construction.
This position is part of the Estimating Team, which supports the company's "get work" function that fuels meeting the business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform material and equipment takeoffs and obtain vendor pricing
- Assign labor factors based on established labor estimating manuals
- Consolidate labor and material estimates into a summary proposal
- Create project milestone schedules
- Read and interpret client-supplied bid documents
- Utilize the Nooter Management System (NMS) to adhere to policies and processes
- Attend pre-bid and jobsite walk-through meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of estimating databases (Accubid, NECA, ConEst, MCA, John S. Page, Richardson's,)
- Ability to perform conceptualized estimates (schematic design, design development, and construction document phases)
- Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of computer software including MS Office Suite
- Ability to learn new software if needed
- Associates degree in Engineering (Contracting Engineer) or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related work experience (Estimator)
- 2-5 years of estimating experience related to our industry
TRAVEL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 10-20% local travel may be required to project sites
- Walk, sit, stand, climb, crawl, kneel, lift, and operate a vehicle
- Reach for, handle, and manipulate objects. Use hands and arms to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds
- Climb ladders and stairs
- Work at a computer station for extended periods
- Ability to focus clearly on objects (either naturally or with corrected vision) at varying distances
- Ability to work in internal and external atmospheric conditions, including high and low ambient temperatures, elevated work areas, and noise levels above 85 dbl
