What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse 1st Shift position at Nor-Am Cold Storage?
Reports to -Warehouse Supervisor
Pay Rate - $18.00 - $20.00 depending on experience.
Nor-Am is hiring for our new location in Cleveland! This facility will begin receiving product on March 1, 2024. New hires will be asked to begin training mid-February.
Hours may be available prior to mid-February for New Hires who will assist us with start up tasks that are outside of typical warehousing duties. These tasks may include sweeping, operating a floor scrubber, labeling racks, assisting IT as they set up equipment and other general labor tasks.
Common tasks
- Perform basic dock tasks such as scanning, wrapping pallets.
- Use material handling equipment to load and unload trailers.
- Perform start and end of shift tasks including sweeping and cleaning in the warehouse.
- Some manual material handling may be required.
- Case picking and building pallets as required by customers.
Opportunities to advance
Employees who have good attendance and performance and who follow all safety rules will be trained to operate pallet jacks, forklifts and high reach forklifts along with other specialty warehouse equipment.

Preferred Experience and Education
- Entry level candidates are welcome!
- 2 years of warehouse experience with forklift operation may qualify for a higher start rate.
- HS diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Our warehouse is cold. You must be able to work in a wide range of temperatures from -20F to 80F. You must be able to walk or stand for the entire 8 hour shift and to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
