What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Pharmacy Tech position at NOR-LEA GENERAL HOSPITAL INC?
This job is responsible for routinely compounding and distributing medication and pharmaceutical supplies, in both IV admixture and pharmacy distribution areas, in accordance with facility standards and procedures and regulatory requirements. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assists pharmacist during emergency situations (ie.“code blue”); is knowledgeable of the crash cart layout and attends in-service updates when offered.
- Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, check for outdated medications in current inventory, and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages
- Order, label, and count stock of medications, chemicals, or supplies and enter inventory data into computer.
- Prepack bulk medicines, fill bottles with prescribed medications, and type and affix labels.
- Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Intermediate Pharmacology
Experience
Two years’ experience in a pharmacy setting preferred.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
