What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Tech position at NOR-LEA GENERAL HOSPITAL INC?
Under general supervision of the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor, performs a variety of housekeeping activities to keep the facility clean and sanitary.
- Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
- Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides.
- Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean and tidy.
- Clean OR rooms, hallways, lounges, restrooms, and other work areas so that heath standards are met. OR rooms to be terminally cleaned at end of all OR case load daily.
- Observe precautions required to protect NLGH and personal property and report damage, theft and found articles to supervisors.
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings and equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease. Uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloths and vacuum cleaner to dust windowsills, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment in an orderly fashion. Scours and polishes sinks, mirrors, and other equipment.
- Assembles materials and supplies from the supply room and transports them to the work area. Replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.

Education
