Infusion RN, Full Time
This position requires a registered nurse in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Candidate must be detail oriented and possess verbal and written skills that facilitate effective communication with physicians, patients, team members and other individuals within and beyond the scope of this specialty.
FTE: Full time, 1.0 FTE
Location: Primary location Blaine. Training will occur at Lake Elmo/Woodbury and Bloomington locations. After training, occasional rotation to Lake Elmo/Woodbury and Bloomington as needed for vacation coverage.
Hours: 10-hour shifts, Monday-Thursday, 6:30a-4:30p or 7a-5p, no evenings, no weekends, 40 hours per week
Other requirements include:
- Minimum two years direct patient care in a medical/surgical clinical setting
- Skills necessary for the administration of infusion therapies
- Knowledge of technologies associated with infusion therapies highly recommended
- Knowledge of infusion medication pharmacology, indications and contraindications highly recommended
- Minimum one-year experience in infusion therapy delivery to patients preferred
- Obtain Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurses (MSCN) certification within 3 years of employment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitude
- Ability to multi-task
Duties include:
- Responsible for all aspects of patient care specific to infusion therapy
- Administer immunoglobulin, Depacon, Solu-Medrol, Tysabri, Ocrevus, Tepezza and other infusion therapies
- Assess and monitor patient condition and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
- Communicate patient status to medical personnel as needed
- Administer pre-intra-post procedure medications
- Electronic Medical chart documentation in and specialized infusion software system.
- Provide open line of communication with infusion nursing team and nursing management, as well as other team members, Medical Director, MDC Director, physicians, and staff
- Coordinate effective handling of emergencies arising from infusion and IV contrast
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently in our infusion suite.
