Assistant Manager
Norby's Farm Fleet has an opening for an Assistant Store Manager in Waverly, Iowa. This position is responsible for supporting the store manager in managing all operational and team member aspects of a retail store. Primary duties include guest satisfaction that builds customer loyalty, leading execution of company standards and to minimize inventory shortage. This position is also responsible for promoting a clean, safe and productive work environment, as well as training on the appropriate application of policies and procedures.
Starting pay up to $21.50.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales
- Ensure promotions are set and markdowns are taken in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner
- Be familiar with applicable sales tax laws
Customer Service
- Ensure highest level of customer service is provided to ensure expectations are exceeded
- Implement and adhere to company’s standards, and insist guests are acknowledged, thanked, and invited to return
- Communicate and assist manager to provide training to ensure understanding and compliance of all staff members to maintain a quality, motivated, and service-minded staff in all positions
- Work with manager to delgate and assign associate duties fairly and follow up on assignments
Merchandising
- Maintain high level of merchandise presentation to company standards
- React to all current direction and update merchandise presentation accordingly with season and advertising changes
Operations
- Maintain clean, safe and productive work environment throughout the store including sales floor, bathrooms, stockrooms, receiving and indoor and outdoor storage areas
- Direct and execute all store operations and policies and procedures
Inventory Management
- Ensure compliance with procedures for receiving, shipping, sorting, and timely processing of freight
- Ensure returns and damages are completed according to procedure and deadlines
- Protect store assets and maintain low shrink by ensuring all security policies and procedures are followed; assist with developing new procedures as needed; monitor high risk areas of store

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years of retail experience preferred
- Previous leadership/supervisor experience
- Experience with inventory preferred
- Flexible availability, including nights/weekends; Typical schedule will be e/o weekend; Store hours are 7:30-6:00 M-F, Sat until 5:00 and Sunday until 4:00.
- Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle and accept change when policy or procedures change to adhere to any and all changes with a positive outlook.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, associates, vendors, etc.
- Ability to be on feet for extended periods of and able to climb ladder
- Must be able to grasp, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Handle and maintain merchandise moving equipment, as needed
