About the Role
A leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to oversee finance and accounting operations at its defense manufacturing site. This role is responsible for financial leadership, reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning to drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and compliance within a government-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions for the plant, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
- Lead the monthly close process within a three-day reporting cycle, preparing and analyzing financial statements
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support operational and strategic initiatives
- Supervise cost accounting , including inventory valuation, standard cost development, and cost productivity analysis
- Ensure SOX compliance and internal controls, identifying and mitigating financial risks
- Partner with Sales & Marketing teams on bid and proposal pricing , including forward pricing rate support (overhead burden, G&A, and Cost of Money rates)
- Lead internal and external audits , including compliance with DCAA and DCMA requirements
- Provide business analysis and financial insights to support executive decision-making
