The Early Childhood Teaching Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the holistic development of young learners in a nurturing, bilingual environment. This position assists the homeroom teacher in creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes intellectual curiosity, emotional well-being, social growth, and physical development. The assistant helps implement engaging learning experiences tailored to meet individual student needs, while fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and collaboration. Additionally, the Teaching Assistant contributes to the daily routines and classroom management to ensure a safe, structured, and joyful learning experience for all children.

Key Responsibilities
- Promote the school’s vision, mission, core values, and the IB learner profile.
- Support the homeroom teacher in preparing and delivering lessons that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce concepts in reading, writing, language, math, and social skills.
- Supervise students in various settings (classroom, playground, field trips), ensuring safety and positive behavior.
- Support students' emotional and physical needs, including personal care when required.
- Observe and report student progress and incidents to the teacher or school leadership.
- Prepare classroom materials and assist with organization and displays.
- Provide support for students with special needs as guided by the teacher.
- Take attendance, participate in meetings, and support school activities.
- Perform clerical tasks (copying, laminating, bulletin boards, etc.) to assist classroom operations.
- Cover the homeroom teacher when needed, as assigned by the Elementary Principal.
- Follow all school policies and administrative procedures, including punctuality and attendance.
- Maintain professional behavior and adhere to the staff dress code.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and school activities as required.
- Communicate through appropriate channels and report absences or delays promptly.
- Support home-school communication by sharing relevant information with the homeroom teacher and assisting with parent communication when instructed.
- Carry out any reasonable tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- University degree preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (desired).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with young children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of early childhood development.
- Ability to plan and support classroom activities.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in MS Office.
- Professional and collaborative attitude.
