Position Summary :
As the Plant Logistics Specialist, you will oversee and facilitate our company's supply chain operations. You will be the one to coordinate personnel and processes to achieve the effective distribution of goods. You will also be responsible for processing orders and overseeing the cycle of order fulfillment and making sure supplies, stock, materials, packages, and / or products are processed through the delivery and / or warehouse system efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities :
- Gathers quotes and analyzes transportation and logistics plans to support project-defined schedules.
- Completes customs documentation forms with designated carriers, brokers, and forwarders.
- Provides information regarding industry requirements to assist with negotiations and transportation contracts.
- Communicates status of deliveries, and shipments, to production facilities.
- Monitors cost and performance improvements by analyzing cost drivers, processes, and specifications for improvement opportunities.
- Creates Commercial Invoices / Packing List.
- Creates requisitions within the ERP system.
- Applies cost-benefit analysis techniques.
- Applies math principles to identify or analyze problems.
- Review logistics performance with customers against targets, benchmarks, and service agreements.
- Stays informed of technological advances and apply appropriate technology to improve logistics processes.
- Other duties as assigned
