Are you someone who enjoys hands-on work, operating machinery, and being part of a growing team? Join Nordic Ware as a Production Associate in our Industrial Coatings Department on 1st shift! In this position, you will operate various machines and ensure products meet our high manufacturing standards. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a company known for its innovation, quality, and strong team environment.
What you will get to do:
- Operate industrial coating machines to apply coatings and ensure product quality.
- Loading and unloading materials onto or from machines.
- Assist group leaders with setups, as requested.
- Utilize calipers and measuring gauges for quality control.
- Ensure the accuracy of the parts produced is documented correctly and all scrap is accounted for properly.
- Ensure machine produces quality parts by performing visual and dimensional inspection of parts.
- Notify supervisors or group leaders of production problems.
- Stack finished parts on skids and properly tag them.
- Operate a hand lift or forklift as needed to transport materials.
- Ensure work area and machines are kept clean and orderly.
- Perform daily barcode scans on production paperwork to ensure accurate tracking.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring to the role:
- High School Diploma or the equivalent preferred
- 6 months of experience with manufacturing equipment or machines preferred
- Knowledge of bar-coding, scanning equipment and procedures
- Ability to work independently or on a machine with others
- Must have good attendance habits and be dependable.
- Forklift certified.
- Possess effective communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move up to 20 lbs. periodically during shifts
- Capability to remain stationary for portions of the shift
- Ability to navigate throughout the plant and position oneself as needed to access products
- Ability to disseminate information so others can understand
- Ability to understand information communicated by others
- Ability to observe activity near and far with or without corrective lenses
- Ability to work in an environment that may include loud noise, odors, and fluctuating temperatures
- Willingness to use provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly
