Machine Insert Operator

Description

We are looking for an exceptional and reliable employee with machine insert experience to join the Nordis Team.  You will be responsible for setting up and operating production machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.  

Specifically:

The Machine Operator is responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot.   

Perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines including inspecting parts to specifications and adjusting machine settings as necessary to complete tasks accurately and in a timely fashion. 

The position follows standard work methods and practices and safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible with the following expectations:

• Operates/monitors product line equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops. 

• Reports any production or equipment issues directly to supervisor as required  

• Assembles goods on production lines  

• Carrys out basic quality and testing checks  

• Packs goods to be shipped as needed  

• Maintains a clean and safe work area and equipment  

• Follows all company rules, policies, and safety rules  

• Shreds and dispose of paper and cardboard per company policy

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and time management skills  

• Organized with attention to detail  

• Dependable and reliable with good attendance record  

• Works well with others and follows directions  

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment  

• Previous production/warehouse experience 

• Ability to work standing for extended periods of time  

• Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted  

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred  

• Experience as a Machine Operator and ability to operate a Pitney Bowes Flowmaster / Blue Crest and postal sorting, and knowledge of other lettershop equipment (Bell Howell, folders, tabbers, meters, etc.) 

• Valid Driver’s License
