JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the verification and reconciliation of all revenue collected, confirmation of processed transactions, verification of shift reports and assisting employees with proximity cards as needed. Responsible for the verification of all revenue deposits, confirmation of processed transactions and determining accuracy of cashier reports. Provide staff support for the day-to-day operations of the public parking lots.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Responsible for the verification and reconciliation of all daily revenue deposits with the PARCS system reports to include manual transactions.
- Responsible for maintaining and submitting daily and monthly reports of all parking revenue collected.
- Responsible for research and documentation of all shortages, overages, and processing errors.
- Responsible for researching and resolving parking reservation issues.
- Responsible for handling all requests for employee parking credentials and for resolving any issues with the same.
- Responsible for assisting car rental managers with the location and billing of vehicles left in the public parking facilities.
- Responsible for directly assisting parking customers.
- Responsible for auditing and maintaining all petty cash in the Parking Department office safe.
- Responsible for tracking length of vehicle stays and processing vehicles for impound.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and directed.
- Administer and adhere to all Authority policies and guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The following generally describes the knowledge, skills and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.
- Must be good with simple mathematics, i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Possess excellent critical thinking and reasoning skills.
- Ability to multi-task on a daily basis.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel preferred.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
- Parking Attendant experience preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess a valid driver’s license and must meet NAA driving record requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge as may be required by assigned job duties and responsibilities.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Personal computer; printer; telephone system; fax; copier; desk calculator; label printer; motor vehicle with automatic transmission; electronic data capture equipment for credit card/check transactions etc.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS: Persons with disabilities may be able to perform the essential duties of this class with reasonable accommodation. Sitting for long periods of time; bending; stooping; lifting up to 45 lbs.; climbing up and down stairs, carrying of some supplies weighing up to 15 lbs.; excessive walking; entering and exiting Airport Authority vehicle in temperatures of varying degrees. This job entails sitting; standing; bending; walking; stooping; pushing; ascending and descending stairs; operating a motor vehicle with automatic transmission; stepping up and down approximately 10 inches to enter and exit cashier booth; ability to maneuver around a chair, drop safe, and desk or file cabinet in a confined space (cashier booth); unloading supply shipments of varying weights and storing in designated areas. All of the above-mentioned physical demands may have to be performed on a daily basis.
WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Often work in varying degrees and unpredictable weather conditions (including operation of vehicle in such).
DRIVING RECORD REQUIREMENTS: All drivers must be at least 21 years of age, licensed for at least 3 years, have the type of license required by their state for the vehicles operated and meet the following driving record standards.
- License is active and NOT suspended.
- Any employee or applicant who has been licensed in their state for less than 3 years must provide a copy of their previous driving record to Human Resources.
- An employee or applicant may have a North Carolina or Virginia driver’s license as long as they reside in that state.
- An “unacceptable" DMV driving record includes the following violations during the most recent 3-year period:
- Committing a Felony with a Motor Vehicle
- DWI/DUI
- Drug Offense
- Eluding a Police Officer
- Foreign citizens with no historical driving record available to us
- Hit Run / Leaving the Scene of an accident
- Lending an Operator’s License or Registration to Another
- Open Container Violation
- Passing a Stopped School Bus
- Racing or Speed Contest Violation
- Reckless Driving
- Speeding 25 mph, or more, above speed limit
- Suspended License History – Drivers who have had 3 or more license suspensions as a result of moving violations
- Temporary Operator's Permit
- Two or more at fault accident convictions
- Vehicle Manslaughter/Homicide
- Three or more moving violations within the past 12 months
Note: Texting or cell phone violations are considered moving violations because they increase the chance of being in an accident.
