What are the responsibilities and job description for the LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE (LTS) ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR position at Norfolk County Agricultural High School?
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Environmental Science LTS will be responsible for planning, teaching, and evaluating student performance in an approved Chapter 74 high school Environmental Science program. The successful candidate will have experience with and knowledge of the following areas: Environmental Systems, Natural Resource Management and Conservation, Environmental Technology and Sustainability, Water, Ecology, and Marine Science.
The successful candidate will be expected to perform those tasks usually associated with the teaching profession in general; be especially responsive to the needs of the students enrolled in Norfolk County Agricultural High School and make a constructive effort to serve the needs of the Norfolk County Agricultural High School as an organization. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Create lesson plans and deliver instruction
Respond to the needs of students, and maintain a positive learning environment.
Keep an accurate recording of attendance in every class including study halls, including notation of all tardies and dismissals.
Prompt reporting for all duty or supervisory assignments.
Refer any major discipline problems to the Dean of Students immediately.
Long-term substitutes are expected to work well with others in a caring, positive and constructive manner. Substitute teachers can expect to interact at times with students, teachers, school administrators, parents and volunteers.
