Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles, either in the field or virtually, to assess the extent of damage and needed repairs.
- Prepare detailed and accurate damage appraisals using industry-standard software (e.g., CCC, Mitchell) and align estimates with company guidelines and industry practices.
- Work closely with body shops and repair facilities to verify the accuracy of damage assessments, repair methods, and costs to ensure fair and reasonable settlements.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders to explain the claims and appraisal process, address concerns, and provide guidance on next steps.
- Work in partnership with claims adjusters, repair shops, and other third parties to facilitate the timely resolution of claims.
- Ensure all appraisals comply with company policies, state regulations, and industry best practices.
- Accurately document and report appraisal findings, including photos, detailed estimates, and any other required documentation.
- Stay current with industry trends, repair methods, and new technologies.
- Participate in ongoing training and education opportunities to maintain expertise and improve performance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or trade school degree in automotive repair or related field.
- 4 year Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto body repair or appraisal. Previous experience in an insurance claims environment is a plus
- Ability to manage a high volume of claims while meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in claims management systems and relevant software.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations impacting auto claims.
- Proficient in the use of auto appraisal software (e.g., CCC One, Mitchell).
- Strong understanding of vehicle construction, repair methods, and parts.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
