Norfolk Florist: Floral and Plant designer
Purpose Summary: This position is primarily responsible for filling/designing all customer orders fresh, plant, funeral, and otherwise. The ideal candidate will be expected to maintain an organized and clean workspace. Must be comfortable working on a computer to process & print out orders. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Must work holidays and have an open schedule during these times. Our top holidays are Valentine's Day and Mother's Day which each have a busy 2 weeks leading up to them. We are also busy for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and some years, Easter.
Responsibility Summary: The following is an outline of this position’s major areas of responsibility:
- Efficiently and productively design floral bouquets plant arrangements, funeral work is a must, baskets, etc. to the specifications of our customer and the policies of this organization.
- Maintain an organized and clean workstation and department
- Record low levels of supplies, hard goods and fresh & plant components and report to the purchasing manager or care and handling lead for replenishment
- Assist in production preparation – set up containers, green containers, etc. as deemed necessary by the design or operations manager
- Continually strive to improve the Norfolk Florist design department
- Communicate and interact with other team members in a harmonious way to promote a strong team working relationship
- Be available and willing to help in any Norfolk Florist department when necessary.
Reports To: Norfolk Florist design manager
Education/Experience: Two years of retail floral design experience required. Success in this position will depend upon your ability to maintain focus on the goals established and to produce arrangements at a rate that exceeds goals while maintaining quality standards and customer satisfaction.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
