What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Practical Nursing Clinical Instructor position at Norfolk Public School District?
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Nursing
- Current Virginia Board of Nursing unrestricted Registered Nurse license
- At least two years of recent satisfactory nursing experience involving direct patient care or teaching experience.
- Tuberculin skin test certifying that the individual is free of contagious tuberculosis.
- Must meet all pre-employment screenings.
- Demonstrates considerable knowledge of nursing in the content areas taught in practical nursing.
- Demonstrates knowledge of advances in nursing practices and nursing education.
- Demonstrates leadership and management skills necessary to work with students, faculty, and clinical setting staff.
- Demonstrates the ability to plan and organize clinical teaching materials.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the content, skills, and processes.
- Demonstrates the ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and content related technology and equipment.
Nature of Position
- Supervises the clinical and practicum activities of Level I and Level II practical nursing students.
- Assists in the development, planning, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the practical nursing program clinical activities.
- Utilizes effective teaching and supervision skills as it pertains to the clinical, lab and classroom settings.
- Assists in planning and maintaining positive community relationships to grow Central School of Practical Nursing (CSPN) advisory board and partnerships.
- Position is part-time and working hours may vary/change due to clinical experiences.
