Job Duties
- Report to the Director of Recruitment
- Make follow-up personal, telephone, and letter contacts to prospective transfer students, and arrange visits of prospective students to the campus.
- Assist in collecting data, compiling reports, conducting research, and in planning relative to the University’s program of transfer student recruitment and admission.
- Assist in preparing publications to support the student recruitment program.
- Assist with managing the Transfer Admissions Office webpage.
- Assist in evaluating transcripts of all students.
- Renders admissions decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures. Visits community colleges, civic organization, and other agencies to attract prospective transfer students to the University.
- Assist in planning and executing admissions events relative to transfer students
- Enter student data into computer system
- Perform other duties that are assigned by the Executive Director and Director of recruitment.
- Responsible for providing students with their status of admissions applications
- Assists with maintaining and establishing articulation agreements with community colleges and civic organizations
- Responsible for the processing of Certificates of Advanced Standing for transfer students
- Travel to various community colleges on a weekly basis
- Assist in the planning and coordination all of recruitment related events for the Office of Admissions & Recruitment
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to present information in a clear and concise manner and be consistently well groomed.
- Ability to establish favorable relations between the University and community colleges and universities, schools public and church groups, and individuals.
- Knowledge of the various best practices as it relates to transfer student recruitment and academic advising
- Working knowledge of counseling and guidance techniques in student recruitment.
- Ability to work effectively with other faculty and staff, with parents and with professional staff of outside referral agencies.
- Possess a current driver’s license
- Willing to travel frequently
- Working knowledge of event planning on a university level, particularly in the area of admissions
- Must be proficient in Colleague
- Must be proficient in the admission and recruitment modules of Colleague as it relates to transfer students
- Must be knowledgeable of best practices of evaluating transfer credits
- Possess knowledge in implementing and maintaining articulation agreements
