Job Duties
The Annual Giving Coordinator at Norfolk State University manages and executes multi-channel annual giving campaigns to build and maintain a strong base of annual support. This position is responsible for implementing strategies to acquire, retain, and upgrade donors through various giving initiatives, working closely with the Associate Director of Leadership Gifts to identify potential leadership gift prospects ($1,000 ).
Campaign Management
- Plans and executes annual giving campaigns including Giving Tuesday, Faculty/Staff Campaigns, seasonal appeals, giving challenges, and Senior Gift campaigns among others
- Develops and implements multi-channel solicitation strategies (direct mail, email, social media, phone)
- Creates compelling campaign content and messaging
- Manages campaign timelines and production schedules
- Tracks and reports campaign metrics and results Donor Relations
- Manages stewardship for annual giving donors (under $2,000)
- Coordinates donor acknowledgment process with the Development Services department
- Maintains donor records in Raiser's Edge
- Identifies potential leadership gift prospects for qualification
- Assists with donor recognition events and activities
Program Administration
- Coordinates with Marketing/Communications for campaign materials
- Manages vendor relationships for direct mail and other services
- Maintains annual giving web pages and online giving forms
- Prepares regular reports on campaign progress and results
- Manages annual giving budget and expenses
- Supports special events and activities related to annual giving
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 2-3 years of fundraising or related experience
- Experience with donor databases, preferably Raiser's Edge
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with social media and digital fundraising platforms
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends
Additional Considerations
- Regular office environment with computer workstation
- Some evening and weekend work required for events
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds
- Limited local travel for events and meetings
