Duties
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and develop seasonal menus that highlight fresh ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and presentation standards.
- Engage with guests to provide information about menu items and accommodate dietary preferences or restrictions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry, preferably in fine dining or catering environments.
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including rice cooking, fish selection, and knife skills.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in sushi preparation.
- Excellent attention to detail with a passion for culinary arts and creativity in menu planning.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
