Job Title: Blade Assembler
Location: Waukesha, WI
Reports To: Finishing Supervisor
1st Shift: 5AM-1:30PM Monday - Friday
Part I - Position Purpose
We are seeking a Blade Assembler to join our team in Waukesha, WI! The purpose of this role is to grind and finish metal castings with a variety of hand tools, belt grinders, and wheel grinders to meet precise quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working with castings, operating grinding equipment and/or hand tools, and ensuring the smooth and safe production of finished products, or related foundry experience.
While previous grinding/fabrication/related experience is preferred, we are willing to train anyone with positive attitudes, dedication, willingness to learn, and outstanding attendance!

Part II - Job Functions
- Operate grinding and finishing equipment such as hand grinders, belt grinders and wheel grinders to remove excess material from castings.
- Inspect various sized and varied metal casting types for defects
- Smooth and shape parts to meet specified dimensions and finish requirements.
- Follow work orders and routing instructions to adhere to part and customer specifications.
- Conduct quality control checks on finished parts to ensure they meet production and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and operational goals.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of grinding equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Attend daily standup and toolbox meetings
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other general foundry tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with housekeeping expectations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a grinder or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with metal casting processes and foundry.
- Proficiency in using various hand tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity, as the position involves standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
- Knowledge of safety practices related to grinding and foundry work.
- Active participant in teamwork and collaborative environment.
- Proactive and resourceful to solve problems, asking questions when unsure of something.
- Willingness to help team members, helping out in other departments on occasion depending on workload.
- Acts with integrity and upholds Norican Group Core Value and Mission Statement.
- Outstanding attendance, proactively communicates for approved time off in advance.
- Willingness to grow and learn new skills.
