Noriko Handroll Bar is seeking a host to join our team! 

Our Mission:

We believe that in order to provide our guests with the very best experience of food and hospitality, it requires a dedicated team of individuals working together with the same purpose. We hope to create and provide a one-of-kind dining experience highlighting quality ingredients in our handrolls through creativity and Chef driven cocktails. We support our local purveyors that allow us to share their products and services. While doing so, we hope to create a workplace for our teammates that offers opportunities and growth in a positive work environment.

Restaurant Information:

•Located in the lower level of Perilla Fare at 401 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60654

•Independently owned and operated business

•We have a positive, teamwork driven work environment with dedicated leaders who are present and working hands on with the team

•We are closed all major holidays

•We are easily accessible by the CTA Blue Line or on 56 Milwaukee bus route

We are looking for a competent hostess to support our front door service at Noriko Handroll Bar. You’ll be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers’ experiences. You need to use our reservation system, OpenTable and have a polite and friendly attitude with guests. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace, we’d like to meet you. Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract customers.

Responsibilities

• Accommodate guests
• Attend to customers upon entrance
• Present restaurant menus
• Answer phone calls for reservations
• Answer questions or make recommendations
• Collaborate with restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
• Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude

Skills

• Proven host / hostess experience (1-2 Years Preferrably)
• Reservation platform experience, preferablyOpenTable
• Attention to cleanliness and safety
• Patience and customer-oriented approach
• Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
• Responsible and trustworthy

Requirements:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

• Knowledge or interest in Japanese cuisine and sake is a plus.

• Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays.
