Who We Are Looking For
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement global transportation strategies that align with NORIT’s goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Operational Management: Oversee daily transportation operations, including the management of carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of transportation operations. Implement corrective actions as needed to achieve performance targets.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the transportation budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high service levels.
- Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation vendors and partners. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with transportation operations. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of geographically spread transportation professionals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales, supply chain, procurement teams to ensure seamless integration of transportation strategies with overall business operations.
- University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation management, with a focus on global operations.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful transportation strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
