What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Dosimetrist position at Norman H Anderson PA?
LOCATION: Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute, Ocala, Florida
One position is available for a Certified Medical Dosimetrist at the Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute (RBOI) due to the retirement of two long-time dosimetrists. RBOI has been accredited by the American College of Radiology for over 20 years and consists of four radiation therapy facilities, with a total of seven physicians, five physicists, eight dosimetrists, and two linear accelerator engineers. All facilities are within a 30-mile radius. Each facility has its own staff physicist, dosimetrists, and physicians and has 2 Varian linear accelerators and a Philips large-bore 16-slice CT scanner. Historically, treatment planning was performed with Pinnacle. However, we are transitioning to Eclipse in November 2023. MimVista is used for image fusion, and the R&V system is Mosaiq. All sites work in unison by having all systems on a unified database and sets of procedures. Typically, each location is treating 40-50 patients per day.
We have a location near downtown Ocala in Marion County, on the west side of Ocala in an area called TimberRidge, in Lecanto in Citrus County, and in The Villages in Lake County.
This position is specifically to help with the dosimetry workload in our TimberRidge and Lecanto offices. Both sites have a full-time dosimetrist, but ideally, we’d like 3 dosimetrists to cover those 2 offices. Therefore, the position is a hybrid remote position that is managed between the 3 dosimetrists. Some onsite coverage is required.
Lecanto is approximately one hour north of Tampa and 15 minutes from the Gulf Coast. TimberRidge is 20 minutes north of Lecanto or 20 minutes west of Ocala. We're looking for a clinically oriented individual with IMRT planning experience. Eclipse and Mosaiq experience is desirable, but not required. We offer an attractive salary based on experience and a generous benefits package which includes medical insurance (effective the first of the month following hire), Health Savings Account, 401(K), professional meeting allowance, license and professional association dues, and relocation assistance, to name a few.
