Automation Engineer

Responsibilities and Duties
- Works with operations to identify opportunities for process automation.
- Develops and builds systems to automate manufacturing processes.
- Creates detailed drawings, schematics, user guides, instructions and related documents for automated systems.
- Works closely with various stakeholders to identify business requirements, streamline processes, and ensure the effective use of technology to achieve business goals
- May interact with customers, vendors and suppliers
Skills, Experience & Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (mechanical engineering preferred)
- One or more years hands-on work experience in manufacturing/machining environment, with emphasis in automation and robotics
- Strong analytical, project management, and time management skills required
- Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities essential
- PLC programming experience preferred
- Robot programming experience preferred
- Experience with electro mechanical assembly preferred
- Experience in MS Office, Solidworks/3D modeling and related engineering tools required
- Must be able to work effectively in fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects to successfully meet deadlines
- Must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative and drive to organize and manage projects to successful outcomes
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required, with the ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with others. Must be able to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to staff
- Position is on-site/in office.
