About the Job
This role plays a crucial part in supporting our cardiovascular program by preparing equipment, assessing and caring for patients during procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment. The position requires relevant certification, strong professional relationships with the medical team, and ongoing education through competency requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare equipment before and during procedures
- Identify and assess patient condition, prepare, position, and provide patient care
- Maintain a sterile environment
- Serve as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in the orientation of new staff
- Use downtime appropriately by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks by Charge person or manager
- Maintain strong professional working relationships with physicians and leadership to facilitate excellent patient care
Requirements
- Completion of a 24-month formal program or military program of Radiologic Technology with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist eligibility and/or current RCIS certification
- Previous procedural area experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training required during orientation prior to providing patient care
- Current BLS required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment
- ACLS training must be achieved within 6 months of hire and maintained through duration of employment
