Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in preparing and maintaining equipment during cardiovascular procedures. This individual must collaborate with a team of cardiologists, provide patient care in a sterile environment, and train new staff members while upholding high standards of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares equipment before and during procedures.
- Identifies and assesses patient condition, prepares, positions, and provides patient care.
- Establishes and maintains a sterile environment.
- Provides preceptorship for new hires and radiology students.
- Uses downtime appropriately by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks.
Qualifications:
- Completion of 24-month formal program or military program of Radiologic Technology with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist eligible and/or current RCIS certification.
- Previous procedural area experience preferred.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technology Registered and/or RCIS certification, Cardiovascular (CV) or (CI) and/or (VI) certification preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
