Cath Lab Cardiovascular Technologist Role Overview
The Cath Lab Cardiovascular Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care by ensuring that equipment is properly prepared and a sterile environment is maintained during procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain equipment for procedures.
- Assess patient conditions, providing individualized care and attention.
- Educate new staff and radiology students on best practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and electrophysiologists to ensure seamless communication and care delivery.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or Cardiovascular Program.
- Registered as a Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) or hold RCIS certification from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- One year of experience working in a Cath Lab preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training required, Advanced Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
