Job Description
This role plays a crucial part in supporting the cardiovascular program at Norman Regional Health System. The Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist prepares and maintains equipment, provides patient care in a sterile environment, and mentors new staff. This position requires certification and a strong commitment to maintaining professional relationships and patient safety standards.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include preparing equipment before and during procedures, identifying and assessing patient condition, preparing, positioning, and providing patient care, establishing and maintaining a sterile environment, serving as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in the orientation of new staff, and using downtime appropriately by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks by Charge person or manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Applicants must have completed a 24-month formal program or military program in Radiologic Technology, be eligible and/or current RCIS, and possess Cardiovascular (CV) or (CI) and/or (VI) certification. Previous procedural area experience is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care, and ACLS training must be achieved within 6 months of hire and maintained through duration of employment.
