The Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist at Norman Regional Health System plays a vital role in supporting cardiovascular procedures, prioritizing patient safety and comfort while maintaining a sterile environment. This position involves preparing equipment, assessing patient conditions, and contributing to the education of new staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares equipment before and during procedures.
- Identifies and assesses patient condition, prepares and positions patients for care.
- Maintains a sterile environment throughout procedures.
- Serves as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in their orientation and training.
- Utilizes downtime effectively by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and completing other delegated tasks assigned by the Charge person or manager.
- Fosters strong professional working relationships with physicians and leadership to ensure exceptional patient care.
Requirements:
- Completion of a 24-month formal program or military program in Radiologic Technology, with eligibility and/or current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
- Prior experience in procedural areas is preferred.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required; BLS must be maintained throughout employment, while ACLS must be achieved within six months of hire and maintained accordingly.
