Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist - RCIS Job Description

The Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist plays a vital role in cardiovascular procedures, ensuring patient care and sterile environments. This position involves preparing equipment, assessing patient conditions, and collaborating with cardiologists to enhance the innovative cardiovascular program.

Overview

Norman Regional Health System is a leading workplace excellence. Our community hospital system serves patients in the Oklahoma City metro area. We have an innovative cardiovascular program and are seeking a Registered Technologist to expand our services. We will soon move into a new state-of-the-art Critical Care Tower with three Cath Lab suites, one Electrophysiology suite, one Hybrid suite, two treatment rooms, and seventeen Same Day Surgery rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares equipment before and during procedures.
  • Identifies and assesses patient condition. Prepares, positions, and provides patient care.
  • Establishes and maintains a sterile environment.
  • Serves as preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in the orientation of new staff.
  • Uses downtime appropriately by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks assigned by Charge person or manager.
  • Maintains strong professional working relationships with physicians and leadership to facilitate excellent patient care.

Qualifications

  • Complete Cath Lab RT Orientation within 6 months.
  • Complete all competencies listed in department policy within 6 months.

Education

  • Completion of a 24-month formal Radiologic Technology program or military program with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist eligibility and/or current RCIS certification.

Experience

  • Previous Procedural Area experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration/Etc.

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and/or RCIS certification.
  • Cardiovascular (CV), (CI), or (VI) certification preferred.
  • Basic Life Support training or re-training required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support certification required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment.
  • ACLS training must be achieved within 6 months of hire and maintained through duration of employment.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or Cardiovascular Program.
  • One year of experience working in a Cath Lab setting preferred.
  • Registered as a Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiological Technologist - ARRT or Registration from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International – RCIS.
  • Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support certifications.

Compensation

  • $27.84-$45.46/hr based on previous work experience.
