Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist - RCIS Job Description
The Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of cardiovascular procedures. This involves preparing equipment, assessing patient conditions, and maintaining a sterile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment before and during procedures.
- Identify and assess patient condition, prepare, position, and provide patient care.
- Establish and maintain a sterile environment.
- Serve as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in their orientation and training.
- Utilize downtime effectively by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and completing delegated tasks assigned by Charge person or manager.
- Maintain strong professional working relationships with physicians and leadership to facilitate excellent patient care.
Requirements:
- Complete Cath Lab RT Orientation within 6 months.
- Complete all competencies listed in department policy within 6 months.
- Hold current certifications from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or Cardiovascular Program.
- One year of experience working in a Cath Lab is preferred.
- Registered as a Radiographer with ARRT or RCIS with CCI.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
