Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist - RCIS Job Description
The Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist plays a crucial role in the innovative cardiovascular program. This position involves preparing and maintaining equipment for procedures, ensuring patient care and a sterile environment. The technologist serves as a preceptor for new staff and collaborates closely with physicians and leadership to uphold high standards of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares equipment before and during procedures.
- Identifies and assesses patient condition. Prepares, positions and provides patient care.
- Establishes and maintains a sterile environment.
- Serves as preceptor for new hires and radiology students and participates in the orientation of new staff.
- Uses downtime appropriately by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks by Charge person or manager.
- Maintains strong professional working relationship with the physicians and leadership to facilitate excellent patient care.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or Cardiovascular Program.
- One year of experience working in a Cath Lab is preferred.
- Registered as a Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) or Registration from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International – RCIS.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) training within six months of hire.
