The Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist is responsible for preparing and operating cardiac equipment, assessing patient conditions, and maintaining a sterile environment during cardiovascular procedures. This role requires collaboration with cardiologists and provides supervision to new hires and students.

We work in a team environment with nine cardiologists and two electrophysiologists.

Responsibilities
- Prepare equipment before and during procedures.
- Identify and assess patient condition. Prepare, position, and provide patient care.
- Establish and maintain a sterile environment.
- Serve as preceptor for new hires and radiology students and participate in the orientation of new staff.
- Use downtime appropriately by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks by Charge person or manager.
- Maintain strong professional working relationship with physicians and leadership to facilitate excellent patient care.
Qualifications
Complete Cath Lab RT Orientation within 6 months. Complete all competencies listed in department policy within 6 months.
Education
Completion of a 24-month formal program or military program in Radiologic Technology with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist eligibility and/or current RCIS certification.
Experience
Previous Procedural Area experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration/etc.
American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Registered and/or RCIS. Cardiovascular (CV) or (CI) and/or (VI) certification preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment. ACLS training must be achieved within 6 months of hire and maintained through duration of employment.
