Job Summary
The Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist plays a crucial role in the cardiovascular program, providing patient care and ensuring safety during procedures.
- Prepares equipment before and during procedures.
- Identifies and assesses patient condition. Prepares, positions and provides patient care.
- Establishes and maintains a sterile environment.
- Professional Practice
- Serves as preceptor for new hires and radiology students and participates in the orientation of new staff.
- Maintains strong professional working relationship with the physicians and leadership to facilitate excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of medical equipment for procedures.
- Assessment of patient conditions and provision of patient care.
- Establishment and maintenance of a sterile environment.
- Preceptorship of new hires and radiology students.
- Participation in the orientation of new staff.
- Collaboration with physicians and leadership to ensure excellent patient care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or Cardiovascular Program.
- One year of experience working in a Cath Lab setting preferred.
- Registered as a Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiological Technologist - ARRT or registration from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International – RCIS.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
