Job Summary
The Catheterization Laboratory Radiologic Technologist is responsible for preparing equipment, identifying patient conditions, and maintaining a sterile environment. This role involves serving as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, utilizing downtime effectively, and collaborating with physicians and leadership to ensure excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate equipment for cardiovascular procedures
- Identify and assess patient condition, prepare, position, and provide patient care
- Establish and maintain a sterile environment
- Participate in the orientation of new staff and serve as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students
- Utilize downtime effectively by performing tasks such as stocking rooms and checking equipment
Required Skills and Qualifications
This role requires completion of 24-month formal program or military program of Radiologic Technology with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist eligible and/or current RCIS. Previous Procedural Area experience is preferred.
Qualifications include:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Program
- One year of experience working in a Cath Lab preferred
- Registered as a Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiological Technologist - ARRT or
- Registration from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International – RCIS
- Basic Life Support
- Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire
