Responsibilities of the Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist
- Equipment Preparation and Maintenance: Prepares and checks equipment before and during procedures to ensure proper functioning and patient safety.
- Patient Care and Assessment: Provides high-quality patient care and assessment, identifying potential issues and taking prompt action to address them.
- Establishing and Maintaining Sterile Environment: Ensures a sterile environment is maintained throughout procedures, adhering to strict protocols to prevent infection and contamination.
- Professional Practice and Preceptorship: Serves as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, guiding them through the orientation process and sharing expertise to facilitate their growth and development.
Qualifications and Certifications Required
- Certifications and Registrations: Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCIS); Basic Life Support (BLS) training; and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
- Education and Experience: Completion of a 24-month formal program or military program in Radiologic Technology, with eligibility for ARRT registration or current RCIS certification; previous procedural area experience preferred.
Compensation Package
- Hourly Rate: $27.84-$45.46 per hour, based on previous work experience.
