Job Description:
The Catheterization Laboratory Technologist is responsible for preparing equipment, assessing patient conditions, and maintaining a sterile environment during procedures. This requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Completion of a 24-month formal Radiologic Technology program or military equivalent
- Eligibility and/or current RCIS certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Previous procedural area experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training required during orientation; current BLS certification required for duration of employment
What You'll Do:
- Prepare equipment before and during procedures
- Identify and assess patient condition, preparing and positioning them for care
- Establish and maintain a sterile environment
- Serve as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in orientation and training programs
- Use downtime effectively by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and completing delegated tasks
- Maintain strong professional relationships with physicians and leadership to ensure excellent patient care
