In this key role, the Diagnostic Imaging Technologist contributes significantly to the success of our cardiovascular program. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing equipment, providing patient care, and maintaining a sterile environment during procedures. Collaboration with a team of cardiologists is essential, as well as serving as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students. A strong focus on quality patient care and staying up-to-date with necessary certifications is crucial for this role.
Norman Regional Health System Overview
Norman Regional Health System is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and advancing healthcare services. Our innovative cardiovascular program features cutting-edge facilities, including three Cath Lab suites, one Electrophysiology suite, one Hybrid suite, two treatment rooms, and seventeen Same Day Surgery rooms. We work closely with a team of nine cardiologists and two electrophysiologists to provide comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment before and during procedures.
- Assess patient condition, prepare, position, and provide patient care.
- Maintain a sterile environment.
- Serve as preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in the orientation of new staff.
- Effectively utilize downtime by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks assigned by Charge person or manager.
- Build strong professional relationships with physicians and leadership to ensure excellent patient care.
Requirements:
- Complete Cath Lab RT Orientation within 6 months.
- Meet all competencies listed in department policy within 6 months.
Qualifications:
- Possess a 24-month formal program or military program in Radiologic Technology, eligible for American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration and/or current RCIS certification.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous Procedural Area experience is desirable.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technology registration (Registered and/or RCIS).
- Cardiovascular (CV) or (CI) and/or (VI) certification preferred.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training throughout employment.
- Achieve Advanced Life Support (ACLS) training within 6 months of hire and maintain it through duration of employment.
