What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer position at Norman Regional Health System?
Norman Regional Health System's cardiovascular program is designed to provide comprehensive care for patients with cardiovascular conditions. Our team of experts works together to deliver high-quality patient care and advance cardiovascular medicine.
Our program features:
- Three Cath Lab suites
- One Electrophysiology suite
- One Hybrid suite
- Two treatment rooms
- Seventeen Same Day Surgery rooms
Our team includes nine cardiologists and two electrophysiologists, who work closely with registered technologists and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities of the Cath Lab CV Rad Technologist include:
- Preparing equipment before and during procedures
- Identifying and assessing patient condition
- Establishing and maintaining a sterile environment
- Serving as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students
- Using downtime appropriately by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks by Charge person or manager
Qualifications required include:
- Completion of a 24-month formal program or military program in Radiologic Technology
- Eligibility and/or current certification as a Registered Technologist (RT) or Cardiovascular Interventions Specialist (RCIS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training and ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
