What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Norman Regional Health System?
Responsibilities :
Provide nursing care as outlined by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
Help develop and implement care plans for patients, ensuring their specific needs are met.
Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to best practices.
Maintain clean and organized exam rooms and clinical environments.
Document all aspects of nursing care and patient activities thoroughly.
Assist with patient care and closely monitor patients during procedures.
Support the training and development of other staff members.
Collaborate with departmental assistants on clinical matters.
Qualifications :
Education : High school diploma or equivalent, along with completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse.
Experience :
Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a clinical, physician-office, emergency room, or hospital setting providing patient care. Experience with office clerical activities is a plus.
Licensure / Certification :
Must hold a current LPN license from the State of Oklahoma or an active Multistate LPN license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) training is required during orientation prior to commencing patient care.
Current BLS certification must be maintained throughout employment.
Compensation / Benefits :
Hourly rate ranging from $17.39 to $28.40 based on prior work experience.
