Job Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian provides initial nutrition assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' dietary needs in a clinical setting. This role involves delivering nutrition education to patients and staff while maintaining compliance with licensure requirements and staying updated with the latest nutrition research.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient dietary needs and develop personalized nutrition plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Deliver nutrition education sessions to patients and staff.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest nutrition research and guidelines.
Requirements:
Education:
Required: A degree in dietetics or a related field from an accredited institution. Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an Oklahoma State Dietitian license are also necessary.
Experience:
Preferred: Six months of clinical experience in an acute care facility.
Licensure/Certification:
Required: Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an Oklahoma State Dietitian license must be achieved within the first six months of employment.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ability to use decision-making skills to make rational and quick decisions regarding prioritization of patient care is also necessary.
