Qualifications
Complete Cath Lab RT Orientation within six months and all competencies listed in department policy within the same timeframe.
Candidates must possess a completion of 24-month formal program or military program of Radiologic Technology, be American Registry of Radiologic Technologist eligible and/or current RCIS, and hold certifications such as Cardiovascular (CV), (CI), and/or (VI) certification preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Prepares equipment before and during procedures.
- Identifies and assesses patient condition, preparing and positioning them for care.
- Maintains a sterile environment throughout procedures.
- Serves as preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in their orientation.
- Utilizes downtime effectively by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks.
